Elizabeth Gomez
Facil Clothing is the story of Elizabeth Gomez — an entrepreneur with a desire to make a difference.
It all started in 2017 in a sewing centre in Kanifing, Gambia, where Elizabeth started training disadvantaged youths in industrial sewing with the goal to make undergarments. When they sold over 1,000 units of underwear in as little as 6 months, she knew she was on to something. With a unique understanding of how to end poverty by creating jobs for youths and women, Facil Clothing was born.
Today, the centre provides fair employment for a team of young women, in turn empowering them to provide for their families, while supporting them through their journey. Facil Clothing is dedicated to creating the best quality undergarments to uplift women and to help them own the day. Our underwear are incredibly comfortable and designed to perfectly fit bodies of all shapes and sizes. To get there, we invest in quality fabrics and workmanship, as we design with simplicity and function in mind.
To further our commitment to empower women, we create jobs where they work respectable hours to ensure plenty of time for family and life outside of work, living wages with paid holiday leave, maternity care and overtime pay, beautiful working environment and much more. By investing in, training and educating young women, we allow them to earn a living, thrive and ultimately, break the cycle of poverty.
As we continue to grow, we promise to continue to offer quality ethical underwear, while contributing to improving the lives of the skilled young women who make them. Facil Clothing is an undergarment brand, but above all, it’s a solution to end poverty that’s changing the lives of women in Gambia for the better.
